THE FIRST HUNDRED DAYS

(Actually 127 days, but the days went by so fast that it seemed like 100)

ROTARY CLUB OF SCOTT VALLEY CHARTERED AUGUST 27, 1987

Although we didn't actually receive our charter from RI until Feb. 1988 -
because we had a Gasp, woman, in our membership!!
We thought we could sneak her in, since her name was Pat
but someone spilled the beans!

August 12, 1987 - District Governor Sam Hughes visits.
August 29th - 1st Annual "Roadkill Roundup BarBQ at the Daibers.
September 19th - Charter Night Banquet @ The Conifer Inn in Fort Jones. The Rotary Club of Yreka, district 511 was the sponsor.
October 31st - "work Day" at Wes & Grace Berry's at the Forks of the Salmon.
December 11th - Christmas Dinner & Dance at the Greenview Grange.

1988

March 31st - Club Assembly and dinner
May 19th - Current and incoming officers and board members meet at Dave Krone's house.
June 11th - Rotary Yard Sale at Pat Graham's Marlahan House
June 18th - Rotary wood Cutting - Chairman Dan Deppen
June 25th - Gary Mortenson's Debunking at Indian Scotty - Bob McNeil Chairman.
July 21st - District Governor David Bassard visits club - Tom Savory President.
August 27th - Salmon BBQ at the Savory's
September 29th - Club Assembly at the Conifer Inn - One year Anniversary for the Club.
October 19th - Hosted Turkish Exchange Group from Turkey

1989

February 3rd - "Bear Feed" at the Greenview Grange put on by Dan and Janeane Deppen.
February 3rd - New member Curt Wilson joins club
February 9th - Treasurers report: Checking = 231.61; Savings = 286.16.
February 11th - District 511 Dinner at the Ashland Inn
March 2nd - Club membership is 26, President Tom savory says that "It would be nice to have 30 members!"
June 10th - Flea Market at the Fort Jones Baseball Field
June 24th - Annual "Roast" at the Indian Scotty Camp Ground in which President Tom is "Roasted" and tossed in to the river.
July 1st - New officers: President - Jim Baker; President-elect - Bob McNeil; Secretary - Larry Schaller; Treasurer - Jim Howell; Club Service - Ken Smith; Vocational Service - Curt Wilson; International Service - Jim Barden; Program Chairman - Gary Mortenson; Bulletin Editor - Dave Krone. Note = dues are $50 a year!
July 29th - Old Etna Days - we had a hamburger booth
August 26th - "2nd Hand BBQ" at President Jim Bakers house on Scott River Road.
September 9th - Food booth at the Greenview swap Meet.
September 21st - 22 out of 23 members present!!
December 8th - Club Christmas Party at the Greenview Grange.
December 9th - Fort Jones Christmas Parade and Toy-Give-Away.
